ITProPortal has spent some hands on time with the Sony Mobile Xperia miro Android mobile phone, which was announced along with the low-cost tipo, in June this year.
Sony?s miro sits above the budget friendly sub ?100 Xperia tipo,?with a slightly higher price of ?130-?150, which buys you a better range of features. These include a slimmer 9.9mm chassis, a higher quality 3.5in 480 x 320 TFT screen and elements taken from other Sony mobiles.
The miro sports XLoud audio that delivers a sharp, meaty sound - a feature that we've seen on the Walkman range. At the base of the device are coloured notification lights that alert the phone?s owner to incoming calls and social networking updates; this has been brought in from the high-end Xperia S.
There is also deep Facebook integration for the social media addicts out there. The same 800MHz processor and 512MB of RAM seen in the Xperia tipo are present. There's also 4GB of internal storage and a 5-megapixel camera, which represents a step up from the miro's little brother. The first set of five photos show the miro from various angles; the next set highlight all the default home screens, with their widgets and shortcuts to applications. Following on from there are four pictures of all the preinstalled apps, where the set finishes off with the setting's menu and the about my phone screen - showing that Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 is installed.
